The Boy Who Loved by Durjoy Dutta (Book Review)

📍 Raghu likes to show that there is nothing remarkable about his life, he has loving middle-class parents, an elder brother he looks up to, and he plans to study in an IIT. It seems like his life is normal but is it that normal? No it isn't.  📍 The story starts with one of his friend's death. Deep down, in his heart the guilt of letting his closest friend drown in the school's swimming pool gnaws at him.  📍 He punishes himself by hiding away from the world and shying away from love and friendship.  📍 But no matter how hard he tries, he feels himself drawn to the fascinating Brahmi - a girl quite like him, yet different in a way.  📍 He tries not to, but he begins to care for her, then life throws him into the deep end and he faces reality.  📍 The Boy Who Loved is the first of a three-part romance, the third book is yet to come. This one contains a dark and edgy, wonderfully realistic and dangerously unreal story.  📍 The language of the book is e...

Tabula Rasa(book review)

📍 This story contains so many things in it. It is an old time story. The story contains History, Culture of different places, politics being played. The things are portrayed very well as things move further in the story.  📍 The story mostly revolves in and around Singapore. The culture of Singapore is shown to the readers. You will learn many new things about the place.  📍 This is my first book from the author and it made quite a good impression on me.  📍 The story narration is done quite well making it interesting page by page. The story moves forward smoothly. Some things I found so good in book such as the sticky notes thing, making chapters short, as it helps finishing the book fast.  📍 There are so much more in the book, many other characters are there as you move forward in the story. Bullets Over Bombay

📍 This book is about a movie which released in 1988. This movie was the first one to be on a Mumbai gangster, showing gritty side of Mumbai.  📍 At a time when Bollywood was still rediscovering romance, Ram Gopal Varma's film dared to imagine the ordinary life of a Mumbai gangster. It kicked off a new wave of Hindi gangster films that depicted a vital side of Mumbai, which was rarely shown in mainstream cinema until then.  📍 Now, it has become an iconic film. When it was released, the regular moviegoer would have been hard to recognise more than a couple of names in the film's credits. Today, it reads like an honour roll - Manoj Bajpayee, Anurag Kashyap, Vishal Bhardwaj, and Saurabh Shukla.  📍 The author Uday Bhatia has told the story of how it(film making, story and all) all came together, how it drew from the gangster and street film traditions, and why and how it went on to become a modern classic.  📍 The writing work and the research done on it is well ...
